Vocal REHABILITATION
VOCAL REHabilitation
Vocal rehabilitation is the process of helping singers restore vocal health and singing voice function after experiencing vocal fatigue, illness, or following voice therapy.
Singers and performers can encounter vocal health challenges at any point in their careers, training, or performance-related voice use. Many factors can contribute to these issues. It can be concerning, frustrating, and even quite scary to experience a vocal health problem, especially when you’re unsure of what steps to take or what might support your recovery.
As a highly experienced vocal coach with extensive training in vocal health, Hannah offers Vocal Health Consultations in a supportive environment where singers can explore concerns, receive practical advice on voice care, and access appropriate signposting or referrals to professional services such as Speech and Language Therapy (SLT), ENT, physiotherapy and more, supporting a holistic approach to vocal recovery.
Hannah is a qualified Vocal Habilitation Professional and Vocal Health First Aider (Vocal Health Education), holds a Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy (Vocal Study Centre) and has completed additional training in Accent Method, Primal Voice, Voice Skills Analysis, Endoscopic Interpretation, Collaborative Rehabilitation Practice, and Rehabilitating and Rebuilding Singers, all contributing to her expertise in this area.
Hannah also provides Singing Voice Rehabilitation, helping singers optimise their voice use and vocal care, giving a performer the opportunity to safely reconnect with their singing and artistry after a period of voice therapy. Hannah works in collaboration with the Manchester Voice Clinics, including the Professional Voice Users Clinic at Wythenshawe Hospital – regularly referring clients and participating in collaborative client handovers. She also has experience in clinical observation involving laryngoscopy and stroboscopy.
Hannah has worked with singers recovering from a range of vocal health challenges, including chronic laryngitis, reflux, polyps, and nodules. She frequently works with singers who are reconnecting with their voice or returning to performance, either following voice therapy or alongside it.
In alignment with ethical and best practices, Hannah receives regular supervision from a HCPC and RCSLT registered Speech and Language Therapist, and holds both Indemnity Insurance and Public Liability Cover.
